Does Devils claw for arthritis pain work? I would like to try something wholistic. I have been taking traditional painkillers for years now, and they sometimes irritate my stomach. I also have concerns about liver toxicity with over the counter pain killers. Is Devil’s Claw good for severe arthritis pain? If the answer is yes, what is the evidence to support that? Have their been formal clinical trials? I know that big medicine is not interested in natural substances because they cannot be patented. This is why there are so few large-scale objective studies on natural products. But are there any studies on Devil’s Claw, or is the evidence only anecdotal? Also, is it safe? Does Devil’s Claw have the same risks of liver toxicity as traditional pain relief? Most organic, natural substances are more gentle on the body than conventional medicines, but not all. I would appreciate any additional information.
